Ok, let's talk.
What questions do you have?
I work in admissions as a benefits advisor and veteran recruiter at a large public university.
level 2
Why did the VA decide that in person and not online rated full BAH……more a complaint. But could never figure out how the VA can dictate in person over online in the middle of a pandemic.
level 2
I have some!
Who do I talk to or go to get the GI step up program?
What's the process like if I want to use the Montgomery overseas? Reason I say this is because the COL would be lower along with the school, I did the math on it and it should be able to support me given there are no weird charges like the school charging me extra because i'm a foreigner or someshit.

So, I tried school immediately after I got out and bombed two semesters while dealing with some personal issues. Now, ten years later I'm back in school pursuing a degree again, and I have to retake most of those classes to do so. Is there any kind of program for me to get an extension on my GI Bill to avoid paying out of pocket for the last two semesters I will be taking to get my degree? Or am I shit out of luck?
level 2
I received about 500 less than I was supposed to last month, and haven't received a book stipend at all. I've finished a summer session and am half of a semester. Do I need to turn in receipts or something?
level 2
If you use Tuition Assistance during the service do you sacrifice your GI bill for after?
level 2
Why is the Reserve rate of benefits so terrible?
level 2
Thanks for taking the time to help answer questions. I got a quick one-I'm eligible for the vocational rehab but have no idea how it works and if I should apply for it. I read about it on the gov website, but I still don't feel like I know what the best option is. Do you have any resources you could post or would you be able to just hit the big points of it in a reply?
level 2
Is this correct? (For certain public universities)
The GI Bill only pays the instate tuition cost of the public university… however, if you are considered an out of state student from that public university, they will still accept the GI Bill and charge you at an out of state tuition rate. So then you will be responsible for the difference left over..?

Can you forward me a post on the Montgomery GI Bill?
level 2
Hopefully you're still answering questions.
I can only take 1-2 classes per semester, which keeps me from getting the military housing allowance. If I take one class every semester (4 months) will I use up my Post 9/11 GI Bill before I ever graduate, or is it pro-rated somehow?
level 1
How do I switch from Montgomery to 9/11? Already paid the 1200 dollars.
level 2
eBenefits after separation.
level 2
There's no actual switch. If you paid into Montgomery you qualify for both. When you sign up to use your benefits you choose which one to use and that voids the other
level 2
I did the same thing, no worries. I went and talked to the education center on Kbay about 2 weeks ago and essentially you qualify for both and when you sign up to use your benefits when applying to a school you pick one and it voids the other. I'm not sure though if you get reimbursed that $1,200 if you don't go with the Montgomery bill. Sucks that they make us choose that stuff in recruit training because nobody really understands it at the time and you end up possibly making the wrong decision.
