I cut these blocks from a 2 x 6 board that I salvaged from my husbands construction throw away pile(they were actually going to burn them! Ugh! I sealed them with a matte sealer and attached them together with a couple of primitive black hinges, and added a matching drawer pull to the top of the center block. This is an old capudine bottle that I painted this primitive design. By Marie Provost, on. It reads"Simplify" with a saltbox house for the"I" and a willow tree for the other"I" I thought I would switch it up a little this time and paint this bottle so that the bottle had to be displayed lying on its side. I added a piece of mustard plaide homespun fabric around the neck and a sprig of mustard, burgundy and beige pip berries in the neck. I am so pleased with how this project turned out that I am going to look for more of these bottles at my local flea markets!
